Happiness is not a possession or an object. It is a state of being, and nothing affects your being more than your mind. Your mind creates and greatly shapes your experience of the world; if your mind is not in the right place, your heart will not be in a place to find or recognize happiness.
So prep your mind: You can actually choose to be open to happiness, and once you choose to be receptive, gratitude frees you to recognize beauty around you. You re-write your perspective on the world. You become thankful, peaceful; you respond to adversity differently. You see opportunity in challenge. You see growth in hardship, and embrace change.
When you change your mind, you change your life.
