I bet you never knew you could reach 10,023 feet elevation in Hawaii, did you? Hiking Mount Haleakala… standing higher than the clouds… Seeing four different Hawaiian islands on a clear day… a harrowing road trip, zipping down a mountain side, as the sun and clouds played a dappled, dramatic dance across the landscape…
It was our day…
Hawaii Travel: Weekend in Maui — Hiking Mt. Haleakala
Aloha kakahiaka kakou! ~ Good morning, guys!
Well hello, Volcano!
One day, we’ll finish the hike all the way to the other side.

View of Lana‘i and Moloka‘i on the most clear day over West Maui
Friendly little trail.
Silver Sword, a plant that glitters metallic in the sunlight, only grows on the slopes of Haleakala and nowhere else in the world.
I can see clearly now… Mauna Ke‘a and Mauna Lo‘a on The Big Island, that is!
Really, really good time. I can’t wait until we do Maui again.
