This was the most amazing weekend spent relaxing, exercising, and spending lots and lots of time with people who bring me resplendent happiness and inspiration.
Belated Christmas/New Year/Anniversary celebration with father and mother-in-law at Mitchell’s Fish Market Restaurant
They gave Nate a bottle of Laphroaig 18 Year scotch. They have no idea how happy this made him. No photo of the gift they gave me…it was a nice big, beautiful card with quite a bit of money in it. That has Sephora’s name written all over it.
We celebrated with a 7 layer carrot cake that all of us had to split–and we still didn’t finish it, it was so big!
Sunday morning brunch of garlic scrambled egg open-faced multi-grain sandwiches with seasoned tomatoes, white cheddar cheese, apples and milky breakfast tea.
Sweet, caffeinated elixir.
Dinner with Ginger Mandy at the Majestic Café.
Then off to watch the brilliant SillyGrrl’s Aerial Yoga (think Cirque Du Soleil) student/teacher showcase by Detroit Flyhouse.
This is the STAR, without her partner Irina.
And this is her other partner, her sparkly, nice bum!
The teachers rocking it out on the trapeze, the silk, and the hammock.
The guru herself, Misha and Matt doing acrobatic wonders.
SillyGrrl and Irina jazzing it out to “All that Jazz” on the trap. Go, Chicago! They were absolutely the best. They actually did it to the music, and put some artistry in their moves.
Every time I hang out with family over good food, spend time with inspirational, hilarious women, and watching unique, interesting things, it brings me incredible amounts of happiness.
Also, it makes my life a better one when I spend a good couple of hours laughing over the most inappropriate things in the universe with one of my besties.
GingerMandy: “This tea bag is weird!”
Me: “That’s what she said.”
