With Tron: Legacy and its sexy A-list star, Olivia Wilde, making the worldwide tour rounds prior to the world Premier, the marketing machine is in full throttle, peddling Tron-y wares.
What is unexpected is its partnerships with high-end fashion retailers by creating futuristic, angular capsule collections. It doesn’t exactly strike me as a fashion inspiration… but given its cult status and the newly re-envisioned installment, it is no surprise that the minds behind the film’s PR, Disney Consumer Products, would jump at the chance to market as many wares as possible.
They have released a very triangular, fiercely shaped collection of statement jewelry with TOMTOM Jewelry, designed by Los Angeles native Elena Coleman. A former architect, Coleman is probably a believer in striking design with confident lines and bold angles. The collection includes a two finger ring, a cuff, earrings, and a medallion much like the glowing discs in the original movie, created of gun metal, antique brass and mirrored blue lucite.
Prices rang between $210USD for the Disc Warrior and about $500USD for the Legacy bib necklace. To purchase items from the collection, visit TOMTOM’s site: tomtomjewelry.com.
Tron: Legacy also teamed up with a go-to establishment for an inspired collection designed by a dynamic duo. More on that in “TRON: Legacy, episode two”, tomorrow!
