Aloha ~ Hey, Lovecat! How are you today? It’s raining in Honolulu. Boo. But it was absolutely lovely for most of this week, and this is what I wore on Tuesday, when the sun was shining bright and golden through billowing clouds.

The flounce of the skirt is so wonderful, I feel like a ballerina, except when the Hawaiian trade winds kick up all violently, blowing the layers up like wave froth against the reef. I always get in a tizzy, wondering if passersby can see my chonies. That’s why I always wear a slip. Of course, my inner tomboy cringes at the foam-like girliness of a lace skirt, so I counter-balance all the femininity with tough hardware-like jewelry and edgy shoulder cut-outs in a jewel color. It’s a nice study on contrasts.

Confused… day dreaming of more HRH jewelry.

You already know my philosophy on fashion is low effort with high impact. You don’t have to spend a lot to get mileage out of your clothes. Most of my clothes are from Target, H&M, BambooSky, or ClubMonaco clearance rack. It’s all about using details to get a high visual statement and balancing out elements to make sure nothing is 100% overwhelming.
