Aloha!
I know, I know, I’ve been missing. Most of my work takes up my free time on the Internet, and I spend a lot of time Facebooking, writing and tweeting as part of my Social Media Coordinator and Executive Administration at Escaping The Sun In Style (ETSIS, also a hat company). When I’m not here at thereafterish., frolicking on a beach, running errands or doing general housewifery, I’m working. That’s just how it goes when you find something you love, yah?
Last week, I wrote on the company’s beauty & style blog about the health benefits of eating fruit. Little known facts to me: fruit can calm bad breath, reduce depression, heal wounds, lower cholesterol. In addition to health benefits, however, are the MANY SKINCARE and BEAUTY BENEFITS of FRUIT.
In the blog post, I wrote:
Avocados:
This super fruit is packed with fiber (who knew!), Vitamins B6, C, E, potassium and non-saturated fats (aka, the good fat). Vitamin B6 converts food into energy and helps the body metabolize fats and proteins, supports healthy skin, bones, hair and teeth. Vitamin E may slow the deterioration that comes with aging and protects cells from damage that can turn into cancer (free-radicals). The good fats help keep skin moist and prevent wrinkles.
Go read the rest of the article here: “Eat your way to beautiful skin.” Maybe you’ll learn something new!
So, now that you know more, do you think you’re going to chuck that pint of ice cream or that candy bar for some canteloupe, watermelon or an apple? I did today! I think I feel prettier already!
Me ke aloha ~ With love, Xx
Mae
