Throwback Thursday. Two years ago… I must’ve known something awesome. A white button down is number one staple in any wardrobe.
{ Throwback Thursday Architecture of an Outfit } White button down, skinny black trousers, gold studded disco belt – Basics build the wardrobe
Aloha kakahiaka! ~ Good morning, sweet, cheeky darling! It’s super humid and cloudy here in Hawaii this week. Clouds, humidity, high velocity wind whipping through porous lava rock mountains, rattling against my window pains–all of this can only mean Hurricane Season. Lovely.
So we’re throwing it back to the Golden Hour of a different place in my life, in a different season. Detroit, in spring. And you know what? I wore a pretty sweet twist on the basic black and white uniform of the business office types.
Apparently I can’t hold onto a good white button down without totally ruining it… I no longer have this amazing fit white button down. Instead I have a yellowed, stained button down I can barely wear without shame. Be that as it may, the shirt is still amazing in the way it sits on my body. It slims down the muffin top, boosts the girls and looks sophisticated with the collar popped or not.
As is the theme of my style of dress: extreme style impact with low effort. Basic pieces like a pair of skinny trousers, a crisp button down shirt and towering black shoes, alone, seem boring, but actually become a gorgeous canvas for a sophisticated ensemble when paired with statement accessories.
A statement belt is all you need. And gold bracelets/watch/rings. Throw on some earrings and let the fit of the shirt do the rest of the talking. Forget wearing a necklace. Decolletage work well under a good shirt.

Killer heels and a statement belt like a gold disco studded belt really up the style quotient without much work.
