Ever meet someone you felt like you’ve known for years at the moment of your first physical meeting? I have.

Hawaii Fashion Bloggers Unite! Elisharon x thereafterish., blogger BFFs together at last

While spending a weekend in Maui on business, I thought it was the perfect opportunity to drive out and meet my blogger BFF! After exchanging emails, countless tweets, text messages and thousands of blog comments over the last three years, I finally met the vivacious and captivating Sharon of fellow Hawaii fashion blog Elisharon. The lovely Shar is exactly as her sweet, genuine smile in all her blog photos would make her appear. She’s absolutely darling! A total sweetheart, bubbly, a good conversationalist, cheerful and laughs easily. And her husband, Eli, is just as cute as he looks in all his photos, too.

Normally, Mainland Mae would only think of blog photo ops and snap the night away to the point of being rude. And yet…? Four hours into the dinner and several drinks later, Sharon and I only realized we needed to commemorate the occasion with outfit shots, but only as we were ushering our husbands out the door. And the only reason we decided to call it a night was because we had a TEDx conference in the morning and Eli had to work early. That, my friends, is the hallmark of a good night–fashion bloggers forget to Tweet, Instagram, and camwhore photo-document their night, lost in the delight of the memories being made. I think I probably lost two pounds just from laughing.

Our camera phones got better shots than our “good cameras”. Go fig.

Even normally shy Husby N felt at home and joined in the conversation without hesitation, and remarked to me after we pulled out of the parking lot, “that was a lot of fun! Your Hawaii blogger friends are pretty awesome.” That’s a big deal, y’all.

SO. MUCH. LAUGH. ZOMG.

Shar and Eli are supposed to be in O’ahu in the next couple of months… REUNION TIME! I can’t wait to see their faces again, and spend more countless hours laughing and talking about life, Hawaii, Filipino culture, oh, and maybe clothes! I love this engaging, hilarious, intelligent pair and anticipate many more almost pee-my-pants-hysterical-laughing moments with them. Good times.
