The fourth leg of our trip landed us for two days in the Southwest, while we recharged at the home of our gracious friends S and J near Albuquerque, New Mexico. We ended up touring a weird hippie art town amongst the dust and ramshackle buildings of an old mining village called Madrid, taking an hour-long off-road detour through the mountains and seeing high desert snow, and then a quick walking tour of New Mexico’s capital, Santa Fe.
Travel Diary: Madrid and Santa Fe, New Mexico
Here are my highlight photos.
Food Porn lunch at Placitas Café
Snow on Route 165, a back country mountain dirt road, where we off-roaded hardcore in my Subaru

An old ranch on the side of the road – too awesome not to snap

Santa Fé’s St. Francis Cathedral glowing golden in the afternoon sunlight

An amazing glass hallway with my adorable Husby. You can bet your ASS I took Outfit of the Day photos here later.

I love orange. You can bet your ass again that I took OOTD shots here as well, much to Husby’s utter chagrin.
