Want to know What’s in My Makeup Bag? I’ve shown you What’s in My Handbag and What’s in My Briefcase… so, last in the series remains a peek into my daily face of the day bag.
What’s in my makeup bag?
So we’ve established that I’m a terrible over-packer, as much as I lack sparcity and succinctness with my words. It would only be natural to assume I’m an over-packer when it comes to what I bring in my makeup bag for touch ups when I’m on the go.

From top row, left to right
- Geometric cosmetic bag.
- Sample Size Benefit Coralista blush
- Rohto Cool redness and allergy relief eyedrops
- M.A.C. Ruby Woo Lipstick (as seen in my article, “The Universally Perfect Red Lipstick for Everyone“)
- NYX Slimline Eyeliner in brown
- Rechargeable AAA batteries for my heated eyelash curler
- GUM dental wax (for my Invisalign retainers, to prevent the edges from cutting into my lips)
- Pixi Eye Bright Liner in No.1 Nude (for my waterline, makes me look awake and alert–less harsh and artificial than white liner)
- Revlon ColorStay Liquid Liner Pen
- Clinique Airbrush concealer in 02
- Clinique Lash Building Primer
- Japonesque Heated Eyelash Curler – My Holy Grail lash curler
- Retractable powder and blush brush
- Benefit They’re Real! mascara
- Peter Thomas Roth Instant Mineral SPF 30 sunscreen (The ONLY sunscreen I’ve ever found that you can apply ON TOP of makeup without messing up your face. BONUS, it mattifies oil, and it’s translucent, so most skin tones can use it. I use this every 3-5 hours, as sunscreen loses efficacy after about 3-4 hours.)
Yes, that’s a lot of stuff. But as I stated earlier, I used to go from work to school, and my days could last from 7:45AM through 10:30PM–that’s 15 hours! I needed to have enough to touch up and always look fresh, alert and polished throughout the entire long day. Once I finished Uni, I still would spend 9-10 hours at the work place and not go home, so yes, I would travel with my entire house in my handbag.
Now that I’m “funemployed”, most days I carry my tinted lip balm, an eye enhancer (either my lash curler or another mascara), my SPF30 and eye drops and that’s it. Honestly, lately, I don’t give much of a crap how I look, as long as I look like I’m awake and alert and don’t look as if I just came back from a week-long bender.
This big teddy Bear[Dog] was watching me while I shot the entire series, silently judging me for being such a pack rat.

{ What do you carry in your makeup case? As much as I do? }

Regularly Architecture of an Outfit / OOTD posts will resume shortly… Remember, we’re still living out of suitcases and laundry baskets until we’re done moving and settled completely in Hawaii after the Holidaze. So pardon the messy room photos… we’re staying with family for the time-being. (We leave Michigan Saturday.)

~ Thanks for your wonderful post~! I love all articles about eyelashes, mascara, as I have really straight lashes and when curled makes my eyes look amazing and gorgeous..
I so love sharing with others about great products.~ The best ever“ heated eyelash curler I have ever found is the Hot Lashes eyelash curler, makeup Artist kit. Loved the reviews on Amazon and was impressed. There is also a site of the same name Hot Lashes.
This curler is exactly like the Shu Uemura curler with a 24K gold plated curler and this small heater base. Keeps my lashes curling till the next day. and my eyes really pop… HTH~
Missed you too homes!! hehe.
I’m jet-lagging horribly. Even my dog has insomnia…
I think I’m going to Maui in January…not sure but yeah maybe Oahu on the way!!!! how you doing??!
xx THE CHEAP
I think your pup has more of a “tell me more” look vs. a silently judging look. But maybe that’s because I’m a pack rat too and hate to be judged for it.
Can I confess that my goal is to start carrying girly stuff around and applying (and reapplying) it on a regular basis??
That is the perfect goal, Carrie!!! Why not just start with a lipstick or lip gloss or something? Easiest way to change your look is your lipstick, your mascara and your shoes!
Yeay!
