AOAO: Remix Chiffon Drape Tunic and a bit of NUDE

Yesterday’s Architecture of an Outfit (OOTD) post featured a shoulder cut-outs top and layering with this asymmetrical chiffon drape tunic and a monochromatic palette.

{ Architecture of an Outfit / REMIX } Remixing Chiffon Drape Tunic with Nude

Today, I’m remixing that same outfit to something in honor of the warmer weather N, Max and I are about to enjoy in Hawaii. By removing the leggings as pants and swapping them out with skinny work trousers, and by losing the shoulder cut-outs top, the outfit becomes a work appropriate little number for warm weather. Or cold weather, if you want to layer a cardigan and blazer over it.

Chiffon is nice and light and breezy, so it’s both the perfect material for hot climes as well as a chic layering piece for those of us who live in colder locales. As you saw yesterday, the draping of the tunic allows for visual interest in layering under sweaters. But worn alone, it’s a chic and easy piece that isn’t too fussy. Leave diaphanous and drapey for a breezy, casual feel. For warmth, throw a sleek cardigan over it and belt that, all under your favorite blazer. Remember that protecting against the cold is all about layers, but you don’t have to sacrifice polish for staying warm.

Petite benefits
If you want, belt it at your natural waist for length and height. The long asymmetrical drape draws the eyes downward and upward, lengthening the center line.

I threw on neutral accessories in nude because I love the neutral look. Nude shoes give the illusion of height (though black shoes would lengthen the line much more), and they echo the nude at my waist with the leather belt.
