Super Chic and Easy Summer Hair Style, Double Messy Low Bun and Spin Pins by Goody

The Secret Weapon, Spin Pins by Goody
How to Use Spiral Hair Pins (Goody Spin Pins)
- Separate your hair into two sections from ear to ear.
- Section off the top part and clip.
- Angle off the bottom section toward one ear, and begin twisting toward the face.
- Twist it into a bun, and secure with a small spiral pin at an angle from the top, screwing it securely into place.
- Screw in a second spin pin at the base of the bun to secure the entire bun.
- Twist the top section directly over the first bun, twisting away from the face.
- Use two spiral pins to secure the top bun both at the top and base of the bun.
- Secure any “wispies” or loose tendrils with bobby pins.
- Pull some face-framing pieces near your face for a more natural look.
- Lightly hairspray non-aerosol (better for the environment!).
- Now go out the door, you’re done!
Mandy, the gorgeous ginger bombshell in this video was kind enough to let me use her head as a guinea pig. Thanks, babe!
You can buy Spin Pins at Target (or any drugstore in the US–not sure about international availability). They retail about $6.00USD for a pair of two long ones, or three short spirals.

More videos, Mae!!! They are so good! I hadn’t heard about the corkscrew pins yet (I live in a cave) – and now I’m totally going to go buy some. Do they work with your shorter do? I wants to see pics!
p.s. I’m so sorry someone was such a troll with your giveaways. You know I’ll be here giveaways or no! xoxoxo, Lar
I love you, Lar!
The spin pins come in smaller kinds and do work with my short hair. Now that I’ve permed my hair, it’ll work even better, too!
AND yes, I would still be a faithful reader even if you didn’t have giveaways!! LOVE U!
xx Love & Aloha
Cuz you’re the bestest!
I can’t wait till you’re here… you can try out fun styles with my boring long locks!!!
Then again, I don’t like when my ears are exposed. You’ll see why.

Such a pweeeeety hairdo :3 I saw the commercial on those Goody spiral pins, but I wasn’t sure if they’d work. Well Mae, you just proved that they did! I hope I could find them in Canada. Haven’t been to Walmart in awhile.

Try Walgreens or Shoppers Drug Mart
Cleavage! Can I have those three minutes of my life back? Joey.. Nice use of a semi-colon. http://theoatmeal.com/comics/semicolon
dude! there’s a hoop trick at the end! i’m so cool. i like all your editing.
LOL. It’s just iMovie and a built in theme. It’s actually kind of irritating and I prefer sticking to simple tutorial editing I’ve done in the past with reviews and the first makeup tutorial.
I’m going to post the video for the big messy buns next week.
I need to film more of your hoop tricks so I can feature you better in credits. I also need to learn how to insert stills in iMovie. Yesterday, it wouldn’t let me despite reading the help menu all the way through. Balls.
I know I was a hesitant shithead about letting you do buns in my hair because I figured they would look like ballz since it’s still sorta short, but I really like this style. Once it gets a bit longer I’m going to be doing it ALL THE TIME. Spin pins = The Bomb. This is also the first time I’ve seen a decent picture of what that tattoo looks like. Heh.
Yes, you WERE being a total shithead about it. I mean, almost mean and totally grumpy-panda. It was like, “Who are you again? ME?”
I would’ve given you the rest of my Spin Pins, but I think my hair will grow back fast enough to put them in really wispy buns in about a month or so. Sorry! Plus, I give you a ton of makeup and Sarah none, so you’re still winning. LOL.
i hate having other people touch my hair, i hate wearing my hair up, and i hate being on video. triple threat, and i probably won’t let you do it again.
LOL. I probably won’t offer to do it again. You were pretty ornery.
lol at the end; Yes.
My hair used to have all these wispy ends sticking out when I had shorter, much more layered hair. It was quite annoying because even braiding it was a hassle.
I like this look, especially on you in the last pic. Great video!
how nice.
Hey, sweetie,
Thanks! Mandy was a very unwilling participant at first, but her short hair proved to be the most interesting result. My long hair didn’t get this edgy sort of look.
Stay tuned for more hair tutes next week! Xx
LoL, terrific vid Mae. Still looked good even with little wispies
. And the vid is really well produced too, nice software.
It’s just high def on my camera, and edited in iMovie!
Ahh apple and Panasonic!
Lol. It’s just iMovie and my camera takes HD video. Thank the lens gods! (Leica, that is.)
