Since becoming attuned to organic, natural or eco-friendly skin care by browsing the skin care aisle at Whole Foods and learning about other natural beauty products through people like my favorite beauty guru, celebrity Makeup Artist Lisa Eldridge, products by Dr. Perricone (PerriconeMD) have been on my radar for about a year now. I’ve been itching to try them, because I’ve read glowing reviews to the benefits derived from using their natural ingredients. Unfortunately, the price has kept me off because the products are about as pricy as you can get in the market today.
About a month ago I won a giveaway by Qin at the Disco for $150 to PerriconeMD, and I chose the Cold Plasma cream, noting its 10 point benefits. It’s meant to slow the signs of aging, brighten the skin, tighten, lift wrinkles, help with discoloration and tone. I’ve been using it off an on for the last month and haven’t seen new wrinkles deepen, and my skin feels nice. So I’ll give it good marks. The only thing I don’t like is the smell from the DMAE, the wonder ingredient derived from salmon. Because Dr. Perricone doesn’t believe in adding harsh, unnatural additives in his products, he doesn’t cover up the slight fishy scent with strong fragrances. It can be off-putting, but it wears off after a few minutes, especially if you put a hydrating serum on top of it.
Well, the Doctor has created a NEW lower priced line called SUPER with amazing green and natural products in amazingly designed packaging.
I’m aching to try the Hyper Hydrator: it has coconut oil for acne, which also balances and moisturizes the skin. I’m also interested in Superhero Body sculpting serum; through the benefits of olives, which tones, revitalizes the skin, and helps it retain moisture better.
I love the company’s commitment to natural skin care and eco-friendly manufacture: All Super products are free of: parabens, propylene glycol, mineral oil, phthalates, sulfates, synthetic dyes and fragrances. When possible, Super products may be free of silicones and PEGs. Super is cruelty-free and made in the USA. The packaging is mostly made from sustainable or recycled sources as well. Win.
