Rachel Gilbert S/S 2010 Collection

If only I had had the budget and knowledge of Rachel Gilbert when I was shopping for my wedding dress.

I would’ve worn all of these down the aisle. Even the LBD’s and the short, sparkly white ones. Especially the short, sparkly ones. They allow me to pretend my legs actually are ninety miles long like those leggy white girls in these photos, and that I’m a milky, creamy dream girl. A princess. A shining, long-legged princess. How I should feel on my wedding day. And I did, except for the leggy part. Because, hey, I got married in a fucking castle.

Those gowns… shit. Damn. Yum.

Cream of the crop LBDs.

My favourite Fierce Black Dress.

This was my real wedding dress, with real heels and sneakers, in a real castle… so it’s not as if I didn’t get an effing dream:

  1. That wedding dress is a work of art. Wow. And at a castle too! That’s the happily ever after you deserve. It’s almost cathartic to know that you got it. =)

  3. OMG, Mae! Those ARE gorgeous!!! I’m scared to check the prices tho.
I totally remember your wedding photos from when you first posted them- and I thought that I had never seen a wedding that looked more fairytale- like. Gorgeous!!!

    • It’s good research for your likes and dislikes for when your day (should you choose to have one) comes! I looked at wedding mags in high school, just like most of the girls I knew. It was always fun to imagine, esp when you can get creative with fashion. I got lucky and found my dress at a tacky dress shop for like $700 (a steal) and snatched it up without a second thought. It’s always so much to imagine, though.

  4. These designs are beyond gorgeous and i love all the intricate details, especially on those LBDs. My favorite has got to be the first gown. I could imagine you wearing all of those down the aisle, changing into a different one every few steps :P

Your actual wedding dress is breathtaking though!! That last picture is stunning and getting married in a castle DEFINITELY seems like a dream come true! :)

    • Thanks, Jen! I think I love the first gown a lot, too. Feminine, but with the recent details that are pretty trendy. I love the short dresses, too… so sexy.

And thanks about my dress/wedding. It was a beautiful, perfect day.

Hit me up, yo.
