Announced by Epaulet New York this weekend: Jean Paul Gaultier x Melissa Collab!

After a 20 year hiatus, Jean Paul Gaultier has teamed up again with Melissa shoes. Known as L’ enfant terrible (terrible child) in the French fashion world, Gaultier has created a stunning stiletto and a true piece of glamour and design. We’re honored to be one of the launch accounts for these iconic shoes.
A far departure from the mid-1980′s tennis shoe with Melissa, this beautiful open-toe shoe is sleek with delicate crisscrossing straps and a shockingly sturdy 10cm/4″ pin heel. The intertwining opaque and transparent rubber highlights the beautiful shape of the shoe while still supporting the foot. It is absolutely one of our favorite collaborative editions from Melissa.
This is a “far departure” as well for Melissa, which so far has made a name for itself being a sustainable, plastic shoe with a faint bubble gum scent, mainly creating flats and shorter, sturdier heels and platforms. I believe this is its first stiletto heel, and probably its most daring style so far–which is saying a lot: Melissa’s silhouettes and shapes have always been out of the box and innovative.

I Love them, but I would not spend $250.00 on a pair of plastic shoes. I will wait to see if they go on sale.
